Rose and her Family

It was studio time again for this shoot as Rose was gifted a present of a photo shoot for her and her family. It was just as well that the studio was used as there was a monsoon outside, just for a change ;-)

There were 15 family members squeezed into the studio and the banter was superb. I’m sure you can imagine the chat when close family is brought together. Most of the shots were group shots of the different family members but I managed to persaude them to get a couple of portraits done as well, because everybody loves their photo being taken, right?! ;-)

Here are a couple of portraits.

The Farrell Family

This is the furthest I’ve travelled for a portrait session, all the way up to Monikie just outside Dundee but it was more than worth it to meet this lovely family. Mum and Dad Sarah and Terry were the perfect hosts in their fantastic house which they are in the process of renovating. I was there to photograph their children Paige, Millie and little Alfie.

We started off in the house with some shots to get the kids relaxed in front of the lens and then we headed off to the superb Monikie Country park which was about 200 yards from their front door! What an amazing local park to have. We went for a walk for half an hour or so and let Alfie and the girls run around while I took the occasional photograph. We timed it just perfectly as the heavens started to open just as we reached the house.

Thanks again for the day, loved meeting you all :-)

Here are some of my favourite shots.

Gerry & Marianne at the Sherbrooke Castle Hotel

Bring together a lovely couple, two lovely families, a superb venueand lots of friends and family and you have Gerry and Marianne’s superb wedding. It really was a pleasure to photograph this wedding and the weather couldn’t have been better for the couple.

We started off with Marianne getting ready with her bridesmaid’s at her mum and dad’s house in Cambuslang. As always we tried to stay in the background and capture things as they unfolded. Then we headed off to St. Constantines in Govan to photograph the ceremony in a beautiful church.

After a lovely ceremony we then went to the excellent Sherbrooke Castle Hotel. This is a lovely venue with excellent staff. We managed to get a few shots of the happy couple outside in the gardens as the weather was superb, the sun was blazing down!

Many thanks to Gerry and Marianne and also to everybody who was so friendly with us. Congratulations guys, it was a great day :-)

Here is a short slideshow of their day which you can view in HD (option is up top right of the screen) and below are some of my favourite shots :-)

Ken’s Retirement Party

This shoot was to capture Ken’s retirement party from the railway. It had been organised by his daughter Jill at Fereneze Golf Club and included quite a few surprises for Ken ;-)

The first surprise was the refurbishing of Ken’s dad’s old bagpipes. Jill had organised for the excellent piper Alasdair Henderson to play the pipes for Ken and also compose Ken a song, entitled ‘The Railwayman’s Rest’. The next surprise was a slideshow of Ken’s family played on the big screen, which was an emotional and touching moment. Then it was time for Ken to enjoy his party and relax with friends and a drink or two.

As well as the excellent buffet there were cupcakes and cake pops provided by the superb Cup Couture. You really have to taste these cakes for yourself, they are a sweet tooth’s dream :-)

Here are a few shots from Ken’s big day.

Cameron

Paul and Lorna had planned things to perfection with this shoot. I arrived at their house to shoot little Cameron at 11:00 just in time to see the wee man wake up from a morning nap. Paul and Lorna had put him down for a sleep a little earlier than normal so that he would be fresh for the camera, and boy was he up for his photographs! It was a bubblefest in the living room with mum and dad almost blue in the face due to blowing bubbles for so long, mind you I was loving it, snapping away as little Cameron had a ball.

After playing around inside for a while we managed to squeeze in ten minutes outside as just for a change the rain was due. Cameron loved it and I just sat back and watched as mum, dad and Cameron played away quite naturally :-)

Here are some of my favourites.
