Taylor
It was back to my old home town of Airdrie for this shoot, just a stone’s throw away from my old school. Ahh, the long distant memories
This time the subject was the super cool little Taylor who was in terrific form even when presented with a baldy photographer first thing on a Saturday morning. That’s a scary thing at the best of times but the wee man handled it in his stride and we got lots of great shots of him laughing away.
Many thanks to mum and dad who as well as looking after little Taylor kept me entertained as well
Here are a few shots of Taylor.
Laura & Marcia
A few weeks back I asked on Facebook for a volunteer model to spend the day with Marcia Gittens (Marcias Makeup) and myself trying out a few different looks. It was to give both Marcia and myself the opportunity to try some things out without the pressure of time. Laura from The Songbirds was kind enough to volunteer which was very much appreciated.
The original plan was to start out in the studio and then head outside for some shots but once again the lovely Scottish weather put paid to that plan. Pretty much most of the shoot was in the studio although we did venture out for 20 minutes and found a deserted tunnel in which to photograph a freezing Laura in.
I’ve worked with Marcia before and it was a pleasure to work with such a talented makeup artist once again. If you are getting married and need a top quality makeup artist then you should really consider Marcia. Her work is top class.
Usually it takes a good 20-30 minutes before someone starts to loosen up in front of the camera and just be themselves but Laura was totally comfortable right from the word go which was fantastic. If you’re looking for wedding singers then The Songbirds should be right at the top of your list.
Many thanks to Laura and Marcia for putting up with me for a whole day. I feel your pain

Mary’s 90th
This shoot was to celebrate Mary’s 90th birthday and it took me all the way to Rothesay to meet Mary and her family.
The shoot took place inside the excellent Chandlers Hotel only 5 minutes away from the centre of town, which was just as well as my sea legs really aren’t the best
The weather was a touch on the wild side so we took most of the shots inside although we ventured outside briefly with Hannah and Amy for some shots on a nearby beach.
Many thanks to all who made we feel so welcome on the day, and I hope you all survived the party that night
Here are a few shots.
A Sunday morning portrait session
This was a family portrait session to celebrate pastures new for some of the family members. The location was Biggar and it was a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. The night before the family had a leaving party so you can imagine the mood in the room as a photographer arrived bright and early
The purpose of the session was to capture the family as a unit so we started inside with some group shots and then headed out to a nearby field to get some more informal and relaxed shots.
Many thanks to everybody who made me feel so welcome

Dylan & Aillie
It was back to Paisley for this shoot and another chance to photograph the brilliant Dylan and Aillie. I photographed these two last year and they were great fun, children who were always up for a laugh. This time the weather was quite a bit worse than last time. There was freezing cold rain and the wind was a touch blustery to say the least.
After a few shots inside we were up for venturing outside into the storm. We headed to a nearby disused hospital for a change of scenery, my kind of place
Eventually we succumbed to the weather however and had to head back. I hasten to add it was me who bailed out first, Dylan and Aillie were hard core
Thanks again to mum Liza who helped out.
Here are a few shots.
