Raymond & Lesley
This was another fantastic wedding in which two best friends got married. I don’t think I’ve seen more emotion from the groom than I did from Raymond, it was brilliant to see. For me, weddings are all about emotions and I love it when couples don’t try to hold back their feelings.
The day started for me at the bride Lesley’s mother’s house, which was only 2 minutes away from the church. The prep was so laid back and relaxed, apart from the game of Snap that daughters Aimee and Abbie played with bridesmaid Sharon. I thought it was going to kick off at one stage
The service was in St.Michaels church which has been rebuilt in the last 10 years. The design is pretty modern with lots of windows which makes it nice for a photographer to work in. The service, in keeping with the mood of the wedding, was a very relaxed affair with plenty of laughs.
The reception was again very close to the church, in the Garfield House Hotel. We managed to sneak out for 10 minutes to get some shots of the happy couple although we did have to cut things short due to hailstones. Typical Scottish wedding
Many congratulations to Raymond, Lesley, Aimee and Abbie, it was a brilliant day
David & Kathryn
This was the first time I had photographed at Gean House in Alloa and it really was a great venue. It’s a bonus for me when the bride and groom have their preparations in the same building as it gives me chance to capture a bit of the groom getting ready as well, although the groom will probably disagree
The atmosphere in both rooms was very laid back and I enjoyed getting to see just how much they were both looking forward to getting married. The Humanist ceremony was a very personal and touching affair and suited the couple perfectly.
The weather was fantastic so we managed to get outside in the gardens for 15 minutes for some bride and groom portraits. As usual the speeches did not disappoint and the best man’s speech from little Lewis aged 9 was absolutely brilliant.
Here are a few shots from David & Kathryn’s fantastic day.
Paul & Lisa
I must admit I am very lucky to meet so many great couples in this job and Paul and Lisa were no different. It was a real pleasure to photograph their big day and it all went perfectly for them.
I started off with the bridal prep at Lisa’s parents’ house which was very calm and relaxed, not one thing fazed Lisa at all
For the ceremony it was off to nearby St. Monica’s church which was beautiful, especially with the low sunlight streaming in through the huge stained glass windows. For the reception it was on to Colville Park Golf Club in Motherwell. We managed to get outside for a few bride and groom portraits which was great given the recent weather.
As always the speeches didn’t fail to deliver and for me there’s nothing better than capturing all the different emotions in the speeches. You go from roaring laughter to tears in the space of seconds, which for a photographer is a god send
Here are a few shots from Paul & Lisa’s wonderful day.
Kate & Kara
Lanark is fast becoming my busiest town for shoots these days and this one of Kate, Kara and their mum and dad was another lovely day spent there. Although it was pretty sunny outside it wasn’t very warm so we started off inside with some relaxed portraits of the family. Once Kate and Kara were totally familiar with the camera we then headed out to finish off the shoot with the children hunting for Easter eggs and picking flowers.
Many thanks to Kate and Kara who were fantastic fun to photograph and also a massive thanks to mum and dad who made me feel so welcome in their home. I even managed to leave with an Easter egg courtesy of little Kara
